Fertility Timeline

July 2005- Marry the hubs at the church we first met at!

2006-2008- Live life as the happily married couple- love my job and getting used to my new role as wife.

2008- Start to suspect something is wrong, but 2 doctors discredit my symptoms and thoughts.

Nov. 2008- meet an RE, who immediately diagnoses me with PCOS. Thank you. Finally, someone believes me. He wants me to start Clomid and ultrasound monitoring right away. Not ready for that much time or expense.

Jan. 2009- Start CrMS.  This just feels so natural and so right.

March 2009- first NaPro appt. with doctor 90 mins away. Love how much time he took with me and how he listened. Amazing. What a blessing. Start 600 mg progesterone suppositories CD 21 or P+3.

March-June 2009- nearly continuous mucus stickers. Why do they have to be pictures of white babies? Looks like my body is estrogen dominant.

July 2009- start Clomid. 25mg for 3 days. I ovulate and have great P+7 numbers!

August 2009- another great cycle and numbers. Don't think we had good timing, but off to little brother's wedding. Too stressed to think about conceiving.

Sept. 24, 2009- oh my! First ever BFP! Shocked and amazed. Thank you, God. Progesterone at 31. Husband and I start praying over baby "Squirt." I start my pregnancy journal.

Sept. 30- slight spotting. Oh no. Progesterone down to 24. Start 600 mg suppositories. No more spotting.

Oct. 14- progesterone down to 9. Dr out of town. Have a very bad feeling about this. Start 200 ml PIO shots.

Oct. 22- progesterone up to 20. Good NaPro visit. Can't hear heartbeat, but I'm only 8 weeks. Uterus is in correct position/size. No ultrasound, but feeling positive.

Oct. 23- first OB appt. with dr. in my town. HCG was 47,000, but no heartbeat and baby only measured 6W 1D. Missed miscarriage. Devastated. Cry the entire weekend.

Oct. 26- follow-up. HCG up to 50,000, baby measured 6W 3D, but still no heartbeat. Sent home to ponder options. Decide to wait for a natural miscarriage. Such a weird feeling to be carrying our deceased child.

Nov. 4- HCG down to 31,000. Start spotting.

Nov. 7- miscarriage. Worst. Day. Ever. My body went into labor. What an awful, horrible, feeling.

Nov. 13- HCG down to 785. There's just something wrong with the fact that I could take a HPT and test + after all I've been through.

Nov. 30- HCG down to 18.

Dec.- try to start healing. Actually ovulate on my own. Maybe this baby will jump start my body into a healthy rhythm?!?

Dec. 25- CD 1 of first cycle after miscarriage. Merry Christmas to me. What a cruel reminder of the child we've lost.

February-March 2010- take time off to heal emotionally and see what my body does naturally.

March 18- TSH 0.848 and Vit. D. 21. Both seem low. Start 4,000 iu of Vit. D.

April 2010- start Clomid again. 25 mg for 3 days. Don't ovulate. I'm shocked.

May 2010- increase Clomid to 50 mg on CD 3 and 4, 25mg on CD 5. Start 500 mg Metformin, even though I am non insulin-resistant PCOS. Vit. D up to 34. Great P+7 numbers.

June- same plan as May. Great cycle and numbers. Hubs is out of town for 2 weeks and we miss peak day. Of course.

July- same plan. Don't ovulate. What's happening? I ovulated every cycle when I first took Clomid, and it was a lower dose. Body- what are you doing?

August 12- Vit D is up to 47. Dr. still wants it higher. Increase to 6,000 iu of Vit. D daily. Good cycle and numbers.

Sept. 7- VL spotting on P+5. Am positive it's implantation spotting. Could I really be pregnant again? It's nearly a year since we found out about our first pregnancy. Could God be bringing good to the month of Sept.? What an amazing thing. I just know I'm pregnant, but it's so different than the first time. I'm relaxed and not stressed about it. Thank you, God, for the growth in my spiritual trust! He even gives me an in-utero name- Sweet Pea.

Sept. 15- BFP#2- finally get a + HPT again! Yay, but I'm still cautious. Progesterone is only 8. Not good. Is this pregnancy already over?

Sept. 18- HCG is only 25. My head tells me it's over. Go to a women's conference and try to praise God after this news.

Sept. 20- HCG is 10. Yep, it's over just as fast as it started. Was it a chemical pregnancy?? Surprisingly, this 2nd pregnancy gives me hope. I felt God telling me to wait on Him through the summer, and I feel like He's still telling me that.

Sept. 23- meet with NaPro dr. for what was supposed to be an OB evaluation. Instead, we look at the miscarriage. He's still confident I'll be able to get pregnant on my own. I am too at this point.

Oct. 23- first ever yeast infection and a UTI on the one year anniversary of the day we found out we had lost our 1st baby. I go home and cry. I am miserable.

Oct-Dec. 2010- vaginal issues continue. See 4 drs, try 5 prescriptions. Seriously, God, you've made it quite clear that you want me to hold off on TTC and wait. Feel like my body has regressed.

Dec. 23- meet with NaPro dr. Discuss where I am at- low mood, still lots of fatigue, want to work on personal health before trying Clomid again. Increase Metformin to 1,000 mg daily and add sustained-release 5mg of Cortisol.

Feb. 2011- Convince Napro dr. to start me on T3 because my hands and feet are always so cold and I'm so tired.  Also, my waking temps are always low.  Thyroid labs come back in range, but my Reverse T3 ratio seems to be way low.  Start 7.5 mcg of T3 twice a day and work up to 15 mcg.

April- Increase T3 to 22.5 in the morning and 15 in the evening.  Am starting to wonder if I need to pursue the Cortisol connection more before doing more with the thyroid.  Not feeling as great as I thought I would on the T3.

May 2011- start to wean off T3 and Cortisol.  Planning Cortisol saliva tests when off the meds.  Get back my food sensitivity results.  The test shows high levels of IgG (delayed reaction) to all dairy products tested (goat's milk, casein, whey, cheese, cow's milk, yogurt), chicken eggs, almonds, gluten, and kidney beans. Also have moderate levels of reaction to sugar cane.  Oh, joy.  Start eliminating all of those from my diet.

June- saliva and bloodspot testing through Canary Club.  Results show extremely high DHEAS and high LH.

July 2011- Start low dose naltrexone.  Begin with 1.5mg and work up to 4.5mg.

August- discover my eosinophile levels are high.  Not sure what that means (allergy, parasite, or tumor?).  Begin chiropractic adjustments: 2x/week.  Take 800 mg vitex (chasteberry).  Think I ovulate on my own as a result (only the 2nd time this year)!  Good P+6 numbers.  Take that, dang PCOS!  Officially down 10 pounds since May when I learned of my food intolerances and attempted to eliminate them from my diet.

Sept. 4th, 2011- BFP #3. Oh boy...the rollercoaster of emotions has begun.  HCG is 1,076 and progesterone is 27.  Starting PIO injections 2x/week.

Sept. 6th- HCG doubled almost perfectly to 2,157!  Thank you, Jesus.

Sept. 19th- progesterone down to 21.  Grr.

Oct. 10th- progesterone at 23. Wish it would rise more.  Grr.

Oct. 24th- Ultrasound.  Measuring 12 weeks.  Baby was moving all around.  Looks great!  Progesterone down to 14.7...freak out!

Nov. 1st- heartbeat check.  Baby is still alive!  156 bpm.

Nov. 7th- progesterone up to 34.  PTL!
