Quick Takes (21)

--- 1 ---
It seems I can hardly put together a coherent, one topic post lately.  Sorry for all these Quick Takes.  Eventually, I hope to be more focused and less feeling like I have ADD of the mind and my thoughts are all over the place.  I did finally take after pictures yesterday, so I should be posting the painted room pictures soon and the work in the basement continues, which is good news, though I'm definitely having to relearn the virtue of patience!

--- 2 ---
We finally did our taxes. We sat down one night this week and pounded through Turbo Tax to finish them all in one evening.  That is definitely record breaking speed for us as taxes usually seem to drag on and on when we do them.  And the best news of all is that we're getting a refund...quite unexpected as we usually end up having to pay each year!

--- 3 ---
I found out that I'm losing my one and only mommy friend in town as she and her family are moving away in a month.  I'm really bummed because I was looking forward to play dates with her and her little boy.  We live in a very transient area made up of a lot of students and young families or people connected to a few of the big companies in town, so we are used to seeing people come in and go out in just a few years.  This is how I've made all my friends...through people coming into town for work...and it's also how I've had to say goodbye to every single friend as well.  Seriously, it's so depressing to not have any friends my age and there's little hope to find some outside of the Mormon community.

--- 4 ---
Speaking of Mormons...they have their big twice a year conference this weekend, which means a lot of people in town will be glued to their TV sets from 10-12 and 2-4 on Saturday and Sunday (then men have a special men-only session Saturday night from 6-8).  Every once in awhile, I'll turn on my TV and watch their prophet (as they call him) or other male authorities speak, but I usually get so frustrated by the doctrine I hear, I have to stop watching otherwise I get too worked up.  This means that the best time to go shopping around town is this weekend during those times because it won't be crowded at all.  And it's always surprising to see which Mormons aren't watching General Conference because it's something so hyped up I think they are all supposed to want to watch it.

--- 5 ---
We had maternity pictures taken tonight, which is pretty amazing considering I didn't get in touch with a photographer until Monday, and then the one that I really liked wasn't available. Also, most will suggest having your pictures taken before 36 weeks (I'm 34 1/2 weeks now), so I was worried I'd be too big and too uncomfortable because I had waited so long.  She found the perfect spot outside for us.  I said something outdoors because I love the natural scenery where we live and got many more scenic shots than I even imagined. We got pictures with snow-capped mountains in the background, cattails, against old buildings, on train tracks, on a dock besides water and mountains, near a wood fence, silhouetted with the sun going down, etc.  I was seriously loving every location we walked to.  I can't wait to see how the photos turned out.  She only sends us 20-25 of the best shots (she took 300+), but still, that's more than we would have if left up to ourselves for photos.  And plus, even if DH and I don't look good, we have amazing scenery in the background!

--- 6 ---
I talked to my Napro Dr. this week (my progesterone numbers are good, but only because I'm not exactly following his protocol of 100 mg twice a week as I'm doing 150 mg twice a week). I found out he's going on sabbatical starting July 1 for a year!  Ahh....I don't know what this means for his patients as he's the only Napro Dr. in quite a large radius.  I think the next closest Napro Dr. is 500 miles away.  He suggested I come in to see him mid-June, so he can meet the baby and to discuss my health, fertility, and I'm assuming what to do for the next year while he's away from the clinic.  So crazy to think about!

--- 7 ---
Time is flying by! I can't believe Holy Week starts on Sunday....so crazy!  I feel so unfocused (see #1) and unprepared for it because I constantly have a million things on my mind.  I'm praying I can settle that mind down a bit and really focus (spiritually) during this upcoming week because I sure haven't focused like I wanted to during Lent, and I'm in serious need of some spiritual reflection.

Quick Takes (20)

--- 1 ---
Why hello there!  I'm still alive.  Sorry it's been so long since I blogged.  Life has been busy, busy, busy.  Here's a little bit of what's been going on.  First of all, dad was here visiting for 9 days. It was wonderful!  This was the longest, consecutive number of days I've spent with him since I moved out of the house to go to college 15 years ago!  Thankfully, I was on Spring Break for most of the time he was here and was able to free up most of my schedule to be at home with him.  He got to see a taste of our daily life with our weekend veggie pick-ups and visits to a few of our favorite local spots.

--- 2 ---
No more blue bedrooms!  The main goal of his visit was to tackle painting for the baby's room as well as another room next door.  Because everything in each of the rooms was blue (textured ceiling and walls, doors, trim, and closets), he and DH had to use 2 coats of primer and one coat of paint just to cover it all!  It was a 4 day project for them.  I tried to help as much as I could...dad and I prepped the rooms, bought the supplies, etc. but I did not do any of the painting (even though it was low-VOC).

--- 3 ---
After the painting was completed, dad and I assembled the crib.  I can't believe we have a crib set-up and nursery furniture in our house.  It still seems like a dream to me.  (I'll post pictures of the paint job in a separate post.)

--- 4 ---
We also tried to have a little fun while dad was here, but he was such a workhorse doing projects every day.  He even cut up all the big cardboard pieces from the furniture, so we can take them to the recycling center in our small cars.

--- 5 ---
We taught dad how to order from Amazon while he was here.  Remember, it was just 2 months ago that he bought an iPad, got his 1st email account, and started using the internet on his own.  He's now entered the world of online shopping, which is so funny and ironic because it's my mom who has an addition to shopping, spending money, and hoarding.

--- 6 ---
While he was visiting, I realized how many similarities I have with my dad- from my eating habits to my perfectionist ways to even the things I say.  My DH noticed it first and starting pointing the things out to me.  It's pretty amazing to me since I only see him a few times a year and makes me think a lot of it might be genetic rather than influenced from the environment.

--- 7 ---
I've decided contractors and sub-contractors are some of my least favorite people (after politicians).  Last week, we signed a contract to have work done in our basement and it has turned into a headache.  Out of the last 8 days, work has been done one full day and 3 partial days (2 hours or less).  I mean, seriously, can they work much slower?  Do they not want to get a paycheck?  We were told an estimated time frame of 3 weeks to finish, and it's already been over a week with not much progress (in my opinion).  I'm starting to freak out about it all since baby is due to arrive in 6 1/2 weeks (or less).  Given the male-dominant culture we live in, I've decided to let DH try to work things out with the people because he gets a much better response than I have.  Still, I really feel like the evil one is attacking me through this experience and stealing my joy from these last few weeks of the pregnancy.  I realized all of this while I was driving home from work today and just said out loud, "get behind me, Satan! I will not let you rob me of joy and happiness at this moment."  We'll see if that worked!

Happy weekend, everyone!

Sunday Updates

Busy, busy, busy.  That pretty much sums up life at the moment.  I don't know where the weeks go, but they seem to be flying by.  I always have the best of intentions to post, comment on blogs, email, etc. during the week and it's just not happening at the moment.  I'm still reading blogs, but not finding much time to comment or respond to those of you that have emailed me.  But- here's a brief update on what's been happening (this was meant to be a Friday Quick Takes post, but here I am 2 days late.)

1. The house projects are driving me insane!  We've had 3 contractors come out to give us estimates on finishing 1, 2, and/or 3 of the rooms in the basement.  The guy we liked the best didn't even send us a bid because he said he didn't have time to do our work.  He was the cheapest, based on his advertised price of $14 a square foot.  The other 2 guys differed in amounts by 2,500!!  We're not talking a ton of square footage here.  It's about 250 square feet for all 3 of the rooms.  We're meeting with the guy of the lower of the 2 bids tomorrow to see if we can knock some things off and lower his price.  His price included everything...drywall, electrical, plumbing, flooring, one-tone paint, and all the hardware for a bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room. It's probably a really great deal and will add a ton of value to our home when we move, but it's just more than the 1st guy we thought we could go with for such a great price.

2. After I finish one work item today, I will officially be on Spring Break for the rest of the week!  My dad is arriving Tuesday, and I'm so excited to spend Spring Break with him doing more house projects:-)  This is his first solo plane ride, so I'm praying for a smooth flight Tuesday afternoon for him.  He'll be here until the following Wednesday, so it's a fairly long amount of time.  His task, along with my DH's, is to prime and paint the entire nursery and upstairs room.  It doesn't seem like too big of a job until you learn that the entire room is blue.  I'm talking walls, doors, closet, trim, and textured ceiling!  Blue!  Blue!  Actually, the whole house was this color inside, and my DH and I have painted most of it to my liking.  My DH is color blind, so it actually looks like a neutral color to him, which is why he picked it out when he had the house built!  He didn't realize he was picking out a one-tone paint scheme.  We laugh about the story now, but when we got married, I moved into the entirely blue house and am ready to have all remains of that color gone!  I'll post before and after pictures in a few weeks, so you can see for yourself:-)

3. If the painting goes smoothly and quickly, I have a whole list of other small projects my dad can work on.  We'll see if that's the case, but he's super handy with all things house-related, so I'd like for him to have time to do a few more things.  Like check to see if we have a bird in our attic!  That's the latest house issue from this week.  Lovely, huh.  If it's not in the attic, then it's in the rain gutter right outside our bathroom.  I'm hoping that's the case.

4. Last week we met with our fee-only financial planner for our annual check-up and retirement review.  I love our planner because we just pay him for his time and the advice he gives us is not based on commission he earns or products he sells.  He helps us choose which mutual funds to be invested in for our Roth IRAs and looks at a whole lot more related to retirement planning, insurance, wills, college funding, etc.  I'm the money person in our marriage, so I love meeting with him.  It gives me the confidence and information to carry us through the next year.

5. Baby seems to be doing fine.  8 weeks until his/her arrival....ahhh!  I'm starting to feel like I'm slowing down a bit, am becoming more tired, have more aches, and pains, etc.  My OB said this would happen around 32 weeks, so I guess it comes as no surprise since I was expecting it.  My latest progesterone draw was good at Zone 2, so now I've had 2 draws in Zone 2 (I'm getting the labs done every 3 weeks now instead of every 2 weeks).  This is the first time all pregnancy I've had two good draws in a row.  I think it may be because of my modified protocol because I'm not following my Napro Dr's advice of 100mg twice a week.  I've been doing 150-200mg twice a week, and have been guided a little bit by Matching Moonhead's experience with PPVI who has her on 200 mg twice a week AND suppositories for a progesterone level that is similar to mine.  I don't feel too bad not following my Napro Dr. for this reason and my level seems to be rising as it should be.  5 more weeks of shots and then I'm off them.  So crazy to think about.

6. I'm so ready to be done with house projects and rest these last few week of the pregnancy.  Our garage is full of all the furniture and items from the 2 upstairs rooms and the 3 downstairs.  I feel like it's an great visual of the utter disarray I feel I'm in at the moment.  Once my dad leaves, the nursery should be complete along with the rest of the upstairs.  Our goal is to be done with all house projects by the end of March, celebrate Holy Week, and then begin thinking about Baby's arrival, packing a hospital bag, etc.  Here's to hoping that works and that I don't need a Plan B:-)

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Quick Takes for a Saturday

Started this list yesterday....am finishing it today.

1. DH turned 38 last week. 38!  Eek.  I have a husband who is 38.  38 is closer to 40 than anything else.  That seems so old to me (I'm 4 1/2 years younger than he is).  I just have to keep reminding myself that how we feel doesn't correspond to the number we are.

2. My "40 bags for Lent" part is going well!  I'm up to 24 bags so far and that does not include the 7 bags I donated before Lent began.  Much to my surprise, it will not be a problem coming up with 40 bags of stuff to leave our home.  Sadly, I probably could come up with 80 bags of stuff we don't need or use in our house.

3. Our unfinished rooms in the basement are all cleared out!  We have been busting our booties all last week and this week to get those rooms (bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room) cleared out and we finally did it.  Some stuff ended up going into our crawl space, but a lot of it was donated or went into the trash or recycling.  I wish I would have taken a before picture to show you how much stuff was in there, but basically the rooms were full.  I did take a between photo, which shows some of the stuff.

4. Our whole reason for clearing out those spaces was to see if we could get someone in to finish the last remaining rooms in our basement.  We want the unfinished bedroom to become our main guestroom and I want the laundry room finished because it's so freezing cold in there now, and I anticipate I'll be spending a lot of time in there doing more laundry after Baby arrives.  It took all week to get people in to take measurements on what it would cost and now we're still waiting to get the estimates back!  I'm so frustrated!  The construction business is hardly booming in our town, and these various contractors are not on the ball with getting back to us.  Both said they would call yesterday and they didn't.  So I will call them on Monday, but do I take that to mean they aren't interested in the job?  Grrr....I'm frustrated.

5. Don't ask my why we waited until I was 30 weeks pregnant to do house projects we've been talking about our entire marriage (6.5 years).  Unrealistically, I thought if we had the space cleared out, someone would come in for an estimate and within a day or two be able to start the work.  My "plan" was to have all the work done by March 13th when my dad is coming.  Sadly, I realize that will not be the case now as I probably have to call more people for estimates since these guys are so slow.  I didn't have a Plan B, but I've been forced to make one.  Dad will be in town March 13-21 to help us paint the nursery and another upstairs room along with other fix-it up jobs.  Since we made plans for him to be here first, and he needs a place to sleep (ie. the basement), I'm just going to tell them our house is unavailable during those dates.  We could put Dad up in a hotel, but how rude I feel that would be and I already talked to him about having workmen in the whole time he's here and he wasn't crazy about that idea (I don't blame him,).  So....will that space be done before Baby arrives?  I have no idea now.

6. Anxiety and Fear seem to still be companions of mine that make their appearance every now and then.  I just heard about someone having a stillbirth at 32 weeks, and Fear and Anxiety came to visit me again.  I still cannot stop thinking about something going wrong with this baby.  It is so crazy.  Is that the IF in me still or because of my past experience with miscarriages or just my personality or my lack of faith?  I find it so hard to believe that we will bring home a healthy baby in the not so distant future.  It's not that I want anything to go wrong, but this seems too good to be true.  I find myself repeating, "Jesus, I trust in You."

7. DH had a monster corner desk in our unfinished bedroom (6 ft x 6 ft). We were just going to donate it to get rid of it ASAP, but I decided to place a free classified ad online last night on a local website.  By 9am this morning, it had already sold and by 12 we had the cash in our pocket and the free space in our garage!  Why did I wait so long to post on this website?  Now I'm going through the house looking at what else I can sell:-)  I think the desk counts as "1 bag" in my Lent 40- don't you?

Updates and Lent 2012

Updates:
It's so hard for me to believe Lent is upon us and we're already 4 days into it.  Wasn't it just Advent and Christmas?  It probably doesn't help that I spent the better portion of January and February sick, so it really does seem like we were just celebrating a different season of the church year.  And I just spent the last week sick with a cold again...the same cold or a different one- I'm not sure.  That means I've been sick for 4 weeks this year already, but who's counting?  We're only 8 weeks into the year.  As long as my body is sacrificing my immune system to protect that of the baby's, I'm ok.  If it's not...well, let's just not go there.

I do think I'm mostly over this latest cold thanks to oranges, decaf tea, Ocean Nasal spray, Netipots, no exercise, humidifiers, lots of kleenex, a little Sudafed, and lots of naps.  Let's hope my healthy stint this time lasts longer than the last one of just a few days.  I keep feeling like my body has failed me, but then I need to remind myself that it is still incubating the baby, so that is not a failure.  I am still kicking myself for going off the low dose naltrexone at the beginning of the year.  I started to get freaked out about being on it and Metformin past 20 weeks because I didn't think the baby needed to be on it, so my Napro Dr. said I could go off because it's uncertain how much it helps past the 1st trimester.  But I now seriously wonder if the naltrexone was helping to boost my immune system because I didn't even so much as have a cold the entire 6 months I was on it (pre-pregnancy and the first 20 weeks of this pregnancy).  My Napro Dr. said he isn't sure, but it is an interesting theory.

A little over 2 weeks and my dad will be arriving in town to help us get the nursery in order.  I can't wait.  It'll be so good to have him out here, but in the meantime, we are working hard to try and clean out our spare room and get someone in to finish that room in the basement, so he has a place to sleep.  DH has been a trooper working on this alone, though I did feel well enough today to help him tackle some of the clutter.

Lent:
I usually pick one thing to give up or one spiritual component to add to my life during Lent, but this year I have a few things on my list.  It's more of a "goals for Lent" list because I couldn't just pick one thing as they are all important in different areas.  Here's what I'm focusing on these next 6 weeks:

-for my emotional well-being: I'm giving up 40 bags of stuff for Lent.  I remember Isaiah 55:8-9 doing this last year and being so impressed with her, but I also remember thinking, there's no way I could get rid of that much stuff in such a short amount of time because it would be so hard.  Well, here I am one year later!  My motivation is sky high to purge stuff and make room for Baby and my DH is very supportive of my effort.  I want to get all of these house projects done now before Baby arrives because I don't want to worry or stress about anything house-related after Baby is here.  So it's to the trash, recycling, or donation pile we go!  We have a few things I may try to sell, but my main goal is to get it out quickly.  I'm already 13 bags in, and I'm surprised how easy it's been so far.  I guess we're the typical American consumers with too much stuff that we don't use or need anymore just cluttering up our house and mind.

-for my spiritual well-being: I'm participating in Prayer Buddies and hoping to read "Hinds Feet on High Places" during Lent.  It's a book that has been on my to-read list for quite awhile as it speaks about the journey of the Christian life from faith to maturity.  The opening verse from Psalm 30:5 has already caught my attention (weeping may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning).  Companions on the journey in this allegory are Sorrow and Suffering and the main character is Much Afraid.  I'm praying the book the book serves as a good reflection to all the last 4 years have involved and helps my mind and soul focus on where I've been and how I've grown thanks to Him.

-for my physical well-being (and my immune system): eat a minimum of 5 servings of fruits/veggies each day.  I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but I've been so focused on protein needs that I don't always get 5 servings in a day.  Baby and I need at least that much, so I figured as I was setting goals, now would be a good time to do it as we enter this home stretch in pregnancy.  Plus, it helps that I can get points for it on my insurance healthy rewards program for 2012.  Points translate into dollars in our pocket at the end of the year, and it's sad to say money motivates me, but it is true at times.

So there you have it, 3 goals for Lent addressing 3 different areas of well-being.  Again, not the typical plan I follow for Lent, but one I feel like is exactly where I'm supposed to be this Lent.

Trip Re-Cap

Well, finally here's a brief recap from our travel weekend.  Thankfully, we were both well enough to fly.  It sure was iffy the days leading up to the trip.  I was so worried about my ears being plugged and painful, and while they were still a little plugged, they weren't painful- PTL!  My husband caught my cold, however, before the trip, and had to deal with majorly plugged ears.  Poor guy.  He can't catch any breaks this pregnancy.

We got in on a Thursday night, my dad picked us up, and we headed to my Grandma's new place where we would be spending the weekend.  We were able to stay in a guest suite right next door to her apartment, which was a perfect location for all of our events of the weekend.  Plus, we enjoyed the extra time with her.  Breakfast every morning was down in her cafeteria with the 55+ crowd.

The rest of the days and evenings were filled with family time.  The most exciting part was meeting our new niece for the first time.  This is my little brother's 1st baby and the 1st grandchild on my side of the family.  You may remember all of my jealous emotions when his wife announced their pregnancy to me last year.  Sad to say, I probably would have still had a hard time with the baby if it weren't for our own growing baby inside.  But amazingly, I wasn't jealous and didn't even think about that while we were there.

DH did a lot of this:
We started calling him the "baby whisperer" because he was so good at calming down little G.  I seriously can't wait until he puts those skills to use on our baby.  What a blessing that will be!

Friday we went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house to look at some of the things Grandma wanted me/us to have.  It was really strange seeing the house so empty and free of their things.  It hardly looked like my grandparent's house that I remember.  The last time I visited MN I stayed with her at her house in October, so my family has really done a lot of work since then to get the house ready to sell. (Grandma only moved out of her house late October.)

I have many, many things of Grandma's, but nothing of Grandpa's, so DH and I went to the basement to see what we could find.  My Grandpa was an avid fisherman and hunter, so he had lots of duck pictures on the wall.  It was also his work area with all his tools, etc.  We found a picture we liked that we thought would look nice displayed in our house, so Grandma said we could have it.  After we took it off the wall and inspected it closer, we noticed the artist had signed his name below a fish with ichthus written in Greek inside it.  What a cool reminder of Grandpa and our shared faith with him (a lot of my family is unchurched).

Then we had lunch with my dad, Grandma, and Aunt, which was fun and relaxing.  We took naps because DH and I were both tired and still a little weary from our colds, then we headed to my parents house to celebrate my little brother's birthday.  It was fun to be in town for a birthday celebration.

Saturday morning we had a little crisis at Grandma's.  Before we met her to go down for breakfast, she'd been cleaning around her apartment and dumped her trash and recycling.  She couldn't find her keys any where, so she thought she dumped them down the chute.  We helped her search and then we tried to talk with the management to get an extra set of keys.  They didn't have an extra set and she was hysterical because we had so many plans that weekend where we would need to lock her room, but also get in to help prepare for 2 parties to be held at her place.  I suggested we go down to the dumpsters and DH saved the day by dumpster diving for her keys!  He first climbed up in the recycling one, and of course the keys weren't there.  Then he climbed into the huge garbage one and there they were!  Phew.  Major disaster adverted.  DH maintains hero status in Grandma's eyes:-)

Then we helped dad book a plane ticket to come visit us next month and help prepare the nursery.  More on that later, but dad is not a big fan of flying (he's been on a plane 3 times in his life) and this will be his first solo plane ride!!  So excited.  We helped set up for the baptism party and then went to the church for the baptism.  This was a huge answer to prayer because little brother and SIL haven't been to a church since their wedding 2 1/2 years ago.  The fact that they wanted to get their child baptized and found a place to worship on their own is amazing!  They are going as a family regularly and are excited to get more involved.

Here's the little family after the baptism.  Welcome to God's family, G!

Here's our niece.  Seriously, I could eat this girl up she is so stinking cute.  She's 11 or 12 weeks in this picture and an absolute doll.  Every time I talked to her or played with her she would smile at me.  I could eat her up.  If our child is half this cute, I will have no problem staring at him/her all day long.
Sunday afternoon was our baby shower.  I don't have any pictures yet since I left that up to one of my aunts.  My other aunt did such a great job planning a couples shower since it's not often that both DH and I are in town.  The guys were good sports as it was the first baby shower for most of them.  It was so fun to see family that I haven't seen for awhile, and my aunt also let me invite a few friends from high school and college that I still keep in touch with.  She had everyone bring their favorite children's book for Baby as part of their gift.  This was perfect since DH and I are such book lovers.  It was so fun to see the books people brought and we had fun reading all of them once we returned home!  It was so fun to be able to celebrate this Baby with dear friends and family.  Something I never thought we'd be able to do.

After the shower, we had a bit more family time before everyone took off.  We stayed and talked with Dad and Grandma for awhile about mom.  Dad has tried to get her to go to marriage counseling with him, but she only has one hour free during the week (that's what she told him) and I think he's pretty much given up on trying to repair the marriage.

I didn't mention mom much in my re-cap, but she was out of control the weekend we were home.  I'm sure she was excited to see us, but every time she opened her mouth it was to talk about herself, blame someone for something, give unsolicited advice, or put someone down.  She even managed to blame dad for his father's death because she claims she knew Grandpa was sick long before he went to the doctor and she told dad about it.  Whatever.  She had Grandma in tears over that and that was just one example from among many where she just doesn't know how to appropriately talk with people without puffing herself up.  I've long said she has a mental illness that needs serious treatment before there's any hope or chance of a semi-normal relationship with her.  On this trip, DH made the comment that he thought she was demon-possessed!  I've never heard him say that about anyone, but he usually can be pretty good at discerning people, so I don't discredit his comment, I'm just not sure what to do with it.  We have some serious boundary-setting to do before Baby gets old enough to talk with her.

Monday morning we were homeward bound.  Thankfully, everything fit into our carry-on luggage (people were very considerate of our travel needs by giving gift cards) and we made it home without a problem.  I'm so thankful for the time we had with my family, and I'm not sure when we'll be traveling to see them again.  We had lots of I'm thinking I'd like for Grandma to meet Baby in the fall if we're up for traveling then, but it's way too early to tell.

A Song For My Waiting Friends and Another for Mommies

I heard both of these songs tonight and I just had to share them with you.  Music so speaks to my soul and both of these songs I can relate to.

For my waiting friends:

This song is called "Waiting Room" by Jonny Diaz.  I found the words to be so true as they spoke to my various seasons of waiting...waiting for a spouse, waiting for a pregnancy, waiting to keep a pregnancy, etc.

May you surrender to the One who has "a much better purpose and a far greater plan and a much bigger perspective."  And May you praise Him all of your days.

For my mommy friends:

This song is called "Remember This" by Beth Champion Mason.  She waited years for a son, and this is her song written about the moment he was placed in her arms.  I'm not sure if she adopted or had him naturally, but regardless of how he came into her family, if you have a son or a daughter that you've waited years, this song will speak to you.

May you enjoy each moment of your baby's life!
