It's still Friday my time, so I'm not too late to get this in!
1. AF is still no where in sight. I'm starting to wonder....it's CD 39 and my cycles are usually 33-34 days, so this is definitely out of the norm. I do take progesterone CD 21-30, and I think I did ovulate later than normal, so I'm only P+15 or 16, but I've had VL B for 6 days. Definitely strange. No telling what this means and definitely no CD 3 bloodwork before my next Napro appt.
2.Back here I talked about how I'm enrolled in the National Children's Study. I had another interview yesterday for the study and will have a few more, but then basically I need to get and stay pregnant in order to proceed further. Oh the irony.
3. I'm 5 weeks info my forced diet (because of food intolerances) and am down 6 pounds! I used to love to eat food and it brought so much pleasure- eating out with dh, trying new foods, etc.. Now I just eat because I have to, which isn't a bad thing, but I've definitely lost a lot of joy for food. I guess that just gives me more energy to find joy elsewhere, right?
4. I'm becoming a "class" addict lately. I signed up for a coupon class next week, a sewing class in September to make a baby quilt, and am going to my 3rd of 4 photo classes tomorrow. I guess I love learning! My dh is even taking the photo classes with me, which is so sweet because he's not interested in photography at all, but is actually enjoying the learning I think.
5. After finishing Redeeming Love, I ordered another Francine Rivers book- A Lineage of Grace. Not sure if I'm going to take it on our Russia trip or not, but am excited to read something else by her!
6. Dh had the day off today so we went to our favorite outlet mall a few hours away. It was a beautiful day out and we had such a scenic drive through the mountains. And the best part is we were able to buy quite a few items we needed for our trip!
7. Finally, we have a snake problem in our yard again. Last year, dh killed over 20 grass snakes in our yard. It was the first year we had that many. We've had such a wet spring, I was hoping they would have all drowned, but low and behold...they are back. I absolutely hate snakes! I can deal with bugs and spiders just fine. I was even ok with giant rats when I lived in Asia. But snakes? I cannot tolerate them at all. There's a reason why Satan was depicted as a serpent in Genesis...I'm just saying.
I'll spare you the closer up photo, but here's what one looked like. They're not all that tiny, in my opinion, and I can't even go in our grass anymore.
Last year we found them in our garage, and I accidentally touched 2 dead ones when we were cleaning the garage. This year I nearly touched one as I was setting pots down in the grass and that was it. I can't go in our grass anymore. I'm a prisoner in our own home. What do I do?
Oh my! I can't stand snakes!!!! That photo was enough to give me the shivers!
ReplyDeleteGood for you on the weight loss! Dietary changes, especially forced ones are so tough! Good for you!
Great news on the dietary front- congrats on the weight loss. Thanks for your comment on my blog. I just looked at your May archives and found your post on the results of your food testing. I'm having the same test done and will probably have similar questions. I've heard about the rotation diet for years regarding food allergies/intolerances. I think that would be really hard but, like anything you could ease into it and slowly make it apart of your life. How do you feel not eating the foods? Keep up the good work- you are an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteUgh. Those snakes look disgusting. And so many! Did you take a pregnancy test? Maybe it is implantation spotting? Or am I being too optimistic?
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I hate snakes too!!! I never heard of them being in the grass like that - in such #s. Crazy!!! Can you spray the lawn for them? Ugh....I would be scared to walk through the grass as well. Congratulations on your diligence in sticking to the restricted diet, and the weight loss, but I get you on the enjoying food, I think that would be hard.
ReplyDeleteFinally, you go girl with the classes, those sound sew fun! Ha, Ha!! You need to share pictures of the quilt and also detail all of your savings from the coupons. I am just starting to get into the coupons thing, we shall see. Have a great weekend!
Thanks for your comments and encouragement, girls. I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't stand snakes!
ReplyDeleteMFAW- I am doing ok not eating the foods. I do miss yogurt and baked goods, but I try not to think about them and try not to wander the aisles at the grocery store!
BNA- Yes, you were too optimistic. Today is CD 1. I was starting to get too optimistic as well:-(
JBTC- I will share pictures/info. from my classes. As far as spraying the lawn..I'm having my dh look into that!
Eww-I have the heebie jeebies thinking about all those snakes!! I would totally avoid the grass also!!
ReplyDeleteThat's bittersweet about the weigh loss-bitter bc your joy of food (I love me some good food also) but oh so sweet bc of the weight loss and hopefully getting your bodied healed and pregnant!!
Praying!
I H.A.T.E. S.N.A.K.E.S!!!!
