Hey everyone, Sorry I dropped off the face of the earth this week. Thought I'd pop in with a quick update. I know Matching Moonheads is still waiting for knitting pictures...they are coming, I promise!
1. Tonight we're celebrating the hub's birthday. He's 37 now (4 1/2 years older than me). I feel so old with a husband in his late 30s. I can't help but think he'll be at least 55 by the time our first child (God-willing we have one) graduates from high school. Ugh. That's so depressing to think about. We celebrating tonight with dinner out and then hopefully playing a new game I got him- Ticket to Ride. He's an avid game fan and loves trains, so I thought it was the perfect fit.
2. I started T3 yesterday. Thanks for your advice and experiences on the T3. I'm taking 7.5 mcg every 12 hours. No increase in my temperature or pulses yet, but I hope I'll feel warmer and more alert soon.
3. I've been swamped with work lately (hence the lack of updates). It really took me by surprise since I only work 30ish hours a week, but my week has been full and I think next week may be as well. Grr. At least it's spring break after that!
4. I'm so excited for Lenten Prayer Buddies to start! I've read about them (and the Advent ones too) in the blog-o-sphere, but now that I finally have a blog I can participate. Yay! Does anyone else think Lent feels so late this year? February is almost over and we haven't even started Lent yet. It's so weird.
5. I'm looking forward to picking up up our fruits and veggie basket tomorrow. Yay for healthy eating. We've been getting a basket every other week and it's been so good for our diet. In addition to eating healthier, I've been trying to exercise more and lose weight. I'm down about 5 pounds, but I'm still 5 pounds heavier than I was when we conceived our first child. I'd like to get down to that weight again because I feel so much healthier and feel like less weight is better for my PCOS management. Therefore, in addition to walking 10,000 steps 6 days a week and going to Curves 3 times a week, I'm trying Zumba at Curves for extra cardio. It's been good, but it's so much work to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I think of how much time I spent exercising, preparing healthy meals, and then managing my IF/health issues and I get tired.
6. It's that time of year where we are due for our annual financial review. I've been gathering all our forms and numbers for an update. Last year we started meeting with a fee-only financial planner, and it was wonderful. We pay him an hourly rate and he gives us financial advice. He doesn't receive commission or anything, so it's unbiased advice. We have made huge strides in our retirement investing the last year as a result. And Dave Ramsey started us on a great savings plan. Financial peace truly is a great thing.
7. It's Friday- yay! I'd better get off to work. I'm hoping to be productive and get a lot done. And I need to meet with my boss about a presentation we are giving at a big conference next month. More about that later, but I'm freaking out a bit because my boss is out of town for the 12 days preceeding the conference. Ahh! How to coordinate a presentation with her is going to be a challenge, and it's my first big national/international presentation. Yikes!
Good luck with the healthy eating! I know how hard it is to try and lose weight (and that was when I was undiagnosed with PCOS!).
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for Fridays! They make everything so much more bearable :)
